To play: hold the singing bowl in the flat palm of one hand. You do not want to touch the sides or you will stop the bowl from singing. With your other hand you can either tap the singing bowl with the mallet, or slide the mallet around the outside edge of the bowl. When you tap the singing bowl, a bell like sound is made. When you rub the outside edge of the singing bowl, a sound like running your finger around the rim of a crystal wine glass is made.
