Lions are a totem long associated with the Sun in various traditions including ancient Egyptian mythology (goddess Sekhmet), as well as within western astrology where lion is the symbol of Leo which is also ruled by the Sun. Lion teaches how to have true pride in oneself. Lion shines bright with his own light and is associated with children, play, and creativity.
