Power animals (also known as animal or spirit familiars or totem animals) hold an integral place within our circle of helping spirits and a tender place in our hearts. Like all helping spirits, our power animals have unique specializations that are customized for our needs and purpose. A power animal may be the protector of your soul, your heart, your incarnational mandate, your physical body, or your home, car or office. They may support you with certain aspects of your work or with specific challenges that you’re currently facing.

The loss of a power animal results in a phenomenon called “power loss,” which is a very serious shamanic illness with symptoms that may include depression, a series of misfortunes, chronic illness, loss of energy or one’s sense of direction, etc. Since the remedy for these symptoms is a power animal retrieval, clearly the potency of power animals is significant. In addition, our power animals are not only loaning us their own power, but the power of their entire species, further amplifying the potency of this considerable resource.

During this one-day workshop, we will deepen our understanding of the specific roles that our power animals play in our lives at this time. We will learn tools for calling upon their presence with intention and regularity, accessing their enormous power more effectively and consistently. We will learn how to collaborate with our power animals both within and outside of our journey practice, honoring their presence and harnessing the support that they are offering us in the service of our life’s purpose.
