Global
Saturn trining Pluto, Jupiter sextiling Uranus... On the surface, with four of the big five complimenting each other, there's harmony in the heavens. But there's grit in the cogs. Venus and Mars are having their own private spat, both being stubborn and snobbish, so expect personal romantic and financial contretemps. Mercury goes retrograde at the end of May strongly square Uranus for ten days, so things will get very fast indeed both mentally and verbally, with many rash statements and developments. And the full Moon at 29 Scorpio on the 20th does give me cause for concern at least at the personal level - I associate this with optical problems. A 'positioning' month in readiness for June/July.
Every so often you get one of those times where things just seem to work out 'right' without much trying on your part. Venus, your ruling planet, is in Taurus most of the month, and there should be a general all round feeling of pleasure and internal positivity. And you're getting a lot of compliments from most of the other planets as well, so you should be able to make things go well now. Of course, the down side of this is the famously Taurean capacity for complacency and living well within the comfort zone. This is a great month for enjoying the good things in life, just ensure that you don't get too used to it and your waistline stays within acceptable boundaries.
Gemini
You're entering the fastest time of the year, as Mercury, the ruling planet of Gemini, comes to stay not for his normal annual three weeks, but instead for nearly ten. So the coming month is a time of mental and verbal diversity, where things may not be as they seem. Events and decisions taken this month will go through a period of re-evaluation and reconsideration in June before real and/or permanent outcomes can be agreed, don't expect miracles this month. Instead, play, test, trial, experience and experiment. But long term decisions are best left for a month or two. The pace of life will accelerate as the month progresses, so stay solid and keep your feet on the ground. No commitments!
Cancer
For the first time since last October, Mars is finally leaving you alone, and the rushed and frenetic lifestyle choices of recent months are now decreasing by the day. It becomes a steadily calmer time as March evolves, with a degree of relief becoming apparent as pressure and the stress of holding things together in the face of challenge starts to finally move on. This is a great month to become invisible and slip below the radar screen and give yourself a month of TLC. Step back and have hot baths, massages, screaming therapy, whatever.. Time to let go of the accelerator and gently apply the brakes, starting with the way you treat your body. Download and detox time.
Leo
Oh boy. An 'interesting' month beckons, one which will not in any circumstances be quiet. Mars enters Leo on the 9th May and will be with you for two months, so expect the daily pace of life to steadily increase and your own personal tempo to have opportunities to go faster. But subtlety and tact are somewhat conspicuous by their absence at the moment, actions speak louder than words. A testing time, where the challenge is to learn the difference between being projective and assertive on the one hand, as opposed to aggressive and/or confrontational on the other. Being lovingly assertive will bring what you most need at this time - the rough and tumble of life in all areas.
Virgo
It's a bit of a strange one this month, many of you are seemingly blessed with chances and opportunities to do things that you normally wouldn't, whilst others of you are almost completely under the thumb or the cosh, one way or another. By all means go beyond your normal boundaries if the opportunity for a bit of fun or leisure comes into your life, you need good humour around you now. Alternatively, feel free to indulge in feeling sorry for yourself. In both cases, it's about going to extremes with a greater degree of safety and knowledge than in previous times. Just break your boundaries in moderation, and don't go to extremes in going to extremes!
Libra
The last three or four months have been a trailblazer time for you, with clear evidence of changes needed and coming. However, May is a month off from the madness, and gives you a chance to catch up with yourself. There's a more sensual feel as May evolves, with less confrontational energy around you. Communications will not be in detail or fact, but in analogy or body language. It's a month to pause and reflect on the year so far, and ask yourself about what's changed. Here you will find the roots of future developments, for both positive and challenging, that if you look impersonally at them you can save yourself years of bother by beginning to let go, ever so slightly.
Scorpio
The full Moon at the very end of Scorpio on the 20th May is an interesting phenomenon, suggestive that a number of you may bring actions and decisions to a peak of maturity, and that from that time onwards certain things become irrevocable. There's no direct opposition to you at this time, but the ball is definitely in your court. You have the option of cutting from elements of your past in an almost surgical way. By all means be eliminative, but not cruel. The key here is to make you more efficient and effective by becoming clear about the difference between your needs, wants and desires. Treat others as you would yourself in similar circumstances, just don't get personal.
Sagittarius
On the receiving end of a number of different challenging energies at the moment, with a combination of Saturn, Uranus and Mercury ganging up on you in a way that's not conducive to a quiet lifestyle. There are a lot of potential misunderstandings or miscommunications coming up, so don't take everything that's developing around you at face value. There are likely to be significant developments at the end of the months, which if rushed at or treated with haste can become hugely over bearing on reality. Stay centered and calm at the end of the month; don't do the headless chicken just because everyone else is. Stay below the radar screen and bide your time.
Capricorn
If you're sensible you started applying the brakes at least a month ago, in which case May should be a month of overview and assessment of the big picture, whether or not things are going to the large scale plan. Alternatively, if your recent life has been getting faster and faster, then now is squeaky bottom time and your best chance is to pop the balloons around you quickly and discern which has substance and which is vacuous. This is a temporary hiatus - with a month or two, the rapid pace of life will return, but perhaps May is a time for restructuring and reassessing a number of life area's, particularly those concerning external sources of funding, income and revenue.
Aquarius
TA new batch of you have been under the influence of Neptune this year, particularly those born between the 10th to the 13th of February. For many of you this year so far has brought confusing and mysterious circumstances which cannot be sorted out by 'normal' means. For others of you, the dissolving and vagueness of last year has finally evaporated, although you're not yet ready to re-engage again properly with the outside world. It's a bumpy but not rocky month, a few ups and downs, especially in the romance and finance areas of your life. But don't take things too seriously now, otherwise mountains will get made out of molehills and rapid escalation will occur.
Pisces
After the initial excitement and significant opportunities in the first few months of this year, things have become somewhat frenetic, bordering on fused. For many of you recent weeks and months have had an element of edge about them that has become steadily sharper. Now that edge can be used to lever yourself either into new situations or into a more solid current status. Certainly, as the end of the month approaches so you will need a degree of stability and solidity about you, so that if you need to take action or decision it can be from a position of strength. But this is not recommended except in urgency, as more information will arrive in June that could change things. Surf.
The world's gone mad, and for once it's not your fault. You seem to be an island of sanity in a world gone mad at the moment, and your best recourse is to hold your own counsel and stay grounded, whilst dancing and flowing with the breeze. Why come out and get involved in other people's issues at this time? By staying below the radar screen of the outside world you can get not only a clearer perspective on current situations than most, but also a deeper intuition than normal, so will instinctively know when the time for action is upon you. But it's not going to be until the end of this month at the earliest, and premature actions would be unwise and foolish.
