March is a month of two halves. It starts with the third and final Mars/Pluto opposition, a time of incisive action and surgical precision if ever there was one. Squeaky bottom time. If you’re born around Equinox or Solstice stay low the first few days of March. This to my mind concerns affairs since early October, peaking late December, culminating now and establishing basic conditions for the coming year. If Pakistan is still intact in a week it’ll be through the worst. On the 7th there’s a new Moon, conjunct Uranus the change bringer and delightfully sextile Jupiter, the growth bringer. Something new is coming in then, something very different. Beware the scams of the first week of March, and look underneath. Then – change. By mid March, it’s very different and the hardest time of 2008 is over. Then the Jupiter/Uranus sextile really begins to work, and it should be a better time.

Uranus, with his reputation for chaos, change and excitement continues to be a pain for many of you, but this can be a stupendous time. Chances to begin again, to break free in a healthy and clean way and to energise yourself with fresh enthusiasm. You can take half of the chances happening around you now with more hope than normal, although results won’t happen until November. Now represents seed germination and the first shoots coming out in an original, if somewhat scary way. Take your chances; just have the wisdom to stop before it gets too fast. New developments, an element of fortune and a chance to make something happen now that could not normally be.

Decisions are needed now, there’s an impetus that just won’t go away. You’re likely to find that issues concerning both home and career are more demanding than normal, suggesting a degree of stretching that may leave you feeling thin in the middle. Yet changes seem unavoidable, some type of action must be taken because the status quo can’t be maintained any longer. Despite the frantic and frenetic verbal and mental interplay, it’s best not to take big chances now, as balance and detachment are not high on the agenda. By riding the storms you can draw the sting of any challenge being shown to you. This is a test of the resilience of your individuality. Hang in there!

You’ll become increasingly aware as March evolves how the energies around you are shifting in your favour. There’s more opportunity, more chances to get ahead and progress in a healthy and mobile way. From the 5th onwards the fog and uncertainty of recent weeks will evaporate and you’ll be able to see a future in front of you. Every planet bar Neptune is your friend this month, and you should be able to get lots of things done. Don’t try and initiate things or situations now, it would be far better to take passing windows of opportunity as they are without trying to change them. The name of the game this month is fluidity and adapting to situations as they happen.

Just because Mars has left town doesn’t necessarily mean the pace of life will quieten down. There are still the ongoing degrees of both change and struggle from Uranus and Saturn, whilst during March there can also be a number of short term breakdowns in communication. Far better to use metaphor, analogy, facial characteristic or body language as a guide to your feelings at the moment than to try and explain using words. Logic is off line, coherence and basic understanding are disengaged for the short term. Don’t try and make sense of it all now. It’s a time of direct experience, not understanding. It’ll all be clear by June, and then you can safely make plans.

So this is it, this is the month when things finally begin to really happen, when old promises start to deliver one way or another, and when the proverbial hits the fan. Mars is with you again through to early May, and you can’t avoid the need to make decisions and take actions now. And there’s no real point in doing things by half measures so either really go for it or else walk away. Inertia is not an option, it leads to stagnation and decay, and you don’t want to go back to being the old you again do you? Take your chances now, keep your hopes and your enthusiasm high and you’ll do well. Just be aware of treading on other people’s toes, won’t you?

This is a time with a number of issues working in your favour. The aim is to maintain low key interest, at least on the surface, because by May you’re going to become more active. Don’t waste time by pushing now; it’ll take more effort to create what could be simple in a few weeks time when the emphasis switches from the ways in which you interact to the duties and responsibilities you perform. On the one hand, helping others is good karma: on the other, how can you help anyone else if you’re not in good shape yourself? ‘Brownie points’ can be accumulated now, as a few months down the line you may need back up and then you can call on a few favours.

Those born between the 23-25 August are under Saturn’s restricting and restructuring influence, whilst those born between 11– 14 are in the midst of unpredictable Uranus transits, bringing change into your lives. The rest of you are in a state of grace, with different positives occurring at the daily level. By keeping things simple life moves easily, it’s when complications arise that progress becomes difficult. It’s not naïve to desire simplicity, sometimes the Virgo sense of detail can become too much. Saturn doesn’t always bring bad news. With a degree of application and a willingness to work hard, now is a time of opportunity for movements forward in a number of areas.

It’s too easy to unconsciously shoulder the responsibility and blame for things that are not to do with you. Realise that home affairs are taking more time than normal, and are best attended to. If you go ‘out there’, sudden imbalance can occur, in a way that can destabilise you for months to come. Stick with what works; this is not a good time to be taking risks. You can swerve and dance, whereas if you don’t, in a couple of month’s time you may have to take major evasive action. Basically, prepare your sandbags – there are challenges coming on a number of fronts, and it’s not till May that you can work with these challenges and turn them into gifts.

About as good as it gets, but it’s not going to happen to you – you’ve got to go out there and find it. You can’t really go wrong, but don’t get lazy or complacent because times like this are rare. Windows of opportunities float in front of people, and if you don’t open them then off they float, it’s only when opportunities are taken that development and growth occur. There’s good communications, popularity, physical energy, an element of outrageous good luck, a devil may care attitude and a degree of structure to ground it all. Looks good, why aren’t you out there planning world domination? Seriously, this is the best time of the year, so don’t get complacent or you’ll miss it.

On the one hand there’s the solid, reliable, structured side of yourself that just knows that the only real option is to put your nose to the grindstone, get stuck in and do it the hard way because then you know you only have to do it once. On the other hand, you haven’t got time for all that! Life’s too short as it is, so let’s take those chances and if some of them don’t work out, well, there’s always tomorrow … Somewhere between these two extremes is where you are, between order and randomicity. The only real question is whether you’re steering a middle course or whether you’re bouncing all over the place. Best to expand your experiences….. but only so far and no further.

And the affairs of the last three months have started to coalesce … It’s time to take your foot off of the accelerator and start moving it towards the brake, that the impetus you’re currently running at may be must a little too unsustainable. March is a time of assessing and testing, turning increasingly into a test of knowing when to stop whilst the going’s good. The alternative potential is really overreaching and overstretching yourself, especially as the month evolves. Similar but much better situations will occur in mid-November, but for now, just take 40% of what’s going on as real. Just because you think you’re lucky doesn’t mean you are. But it does help.

There’s a welcome lack of attention coming your way at the moment. Be grateful, because the energies loose now are not conducive to peace and understanding, and you’ll only get in the way of something difficult if you do come out to play. There’s a background energy that subtly increases your financial potential now, not through big changes but localised benefits from more than one source, so diversify your income, keep your fingers in many pies. Take your chances now to close a number of doors because by doing so you create a degree of efficiency and effectiveness in your life that’s not normally there. Do it the hard way, then you only have to do it once.
