Give an Hour is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing a national network of volunteers to respond to acute and chronic needs within our society. It is based on several important beliefs: • We can tap into the abundant resources available in our communities to respond to the needs within our country. • Our society will benefit if we can find the means to harness the good inherent in each of us. • Most people want to respond to a worthy cause. • People will donate time if they can do so easily and constructively. • The act of giving has a positive effect on those who give as well as on those who receive. • The opportunity to give back promotes dignity and self-respect.
