Celestite, also called Celestine, is a beautiful mineral found in various colors such as white, grey, yellow, orange and brown. But the color I’ve most often seen is a light blue-grey, reminiscent of the celestial realms its name implies.

Celestite is said to work with the third eye and the crown chakra, something that becomes obvious when you hold it in your hands. People have reported feeling uplifted, more communicative and creative as a result of this mineral’s energetic effects.

Celestite is often used in healing rooms, bedrooms and meditation areas because its energy is perceived as soft and gentle. Those who work with this stone will sometimes experience a feeling of serenity, calm and centeredness. Although quite different in feeling from the grounding stones like Tourmaline, Jet and Hematite that anchor and absorb negative energies, Celestite brings energy into a space.

We often have lovely pieces of Celestite in the room during healing sessions. One day we were finishing work on a client that required a great deal of extraction work in the lower belly. The client had been looking at a beautiful piece of Celestite sitting on the window sill reflecting the sunlight.

After a few minutes, she asked if she could place the Celestite on her belly and lay with it on top of her for a bit. It was a fairly large Celestite specimen, and aside from the weight, we were worried about it dropping and shattering. But the earnest yearning in her voice was so heartfelt we simply had to bring it over and let her hold it.

Of course, it was exactly the right thing for her to do since we had just cleared a great deal of heaviness out of that area and it was time to fill it with healing light. We could see the effects of the Celestite almost immediately. The client felt a deep purification, innocence and sacredness that helped considerably in clearing and shifting her as had been her intent.

Some have reported that holding a piece of Celestite will result in experiencing a soothing sensation of floating amongst clouds or in a vast ocean. When we float, we are releasing and trusting the water to hold us up. I believe one of the reasons Celestite is such a helpful mineral when doing energetic healing work is that it inspires this sense of trust and openness. This is always helpful when trying to release old emotions or patterns.

Traditionally, Celestite is associated with communication to different dimensional layers, such as the angelic realms, and raising the rate of vibration of those working with it. This mineral radiates and infuses its surroundings with positive energy. It is a good mineral to use when you are trying to put energy into a space and call in that sense of the divine.

Use Celestite in rooms where anxiety, illness or emotional turmoil has been a problem. This mineral helps to bring in lightness. But remember that the first step is always about preparation. 

• Clean Start out by clearing the room. Open windows, dust, wipe things down and move the energy around. Make sure to get air circulation in the corners of the room where the most stagnant energy tends to gather.
• Sound Play music, a drum, singing bowls, ring some bells, let the sound help to clear out the staleness of the environment. Move the remnants of emotional imprints we leave behind just as a natural process of living.
• Infuse I like to also spray my rooms with flower hydrosols after I’ve cleaned.

Some of the old wives tales talked about flowers and flower fragrances as attracting the spirits of the flowers into a space, the flower devas. It was thought that the flower devas would provide protection and bring joy and love into the home. With windows open, letting the fresh air renew the room, place your piece of Celestite in a favorite spot and invite peaceful and soft energetic influences to come. It is a beautiful mineral.
