A method of reading the energies in relation to a person based on the numbers of their date of birth and name.

Historical Background

The origins of Numerology are unclear. Pythagoras is often considered the 'father' of Numerology, although there is a great deal of debate over whether he had any direct impact on this modality. At the very least, his teachings did seem to have some impact in that he believed that all the universe - in fact the nature of reality itself - could be converted to numbers. Numerologists tend to take this one step further and say that the numbers themselves have unique meanings. Thus, by converting a name to numbers, or using a person's birth date, a Numerologist can determine information about a person. In short, by determining the numbers, a person can find hidden meaning. This idea has been used in the Kabalistic practices, as well as with some Christian scholars, and during the time of the Renaissance, Numerology was a widely accepted field of study. In recent history, it has experienced a certain level of revival, along with methods such as Astrology, Tarot, and I Ching.
