Thanksgiving Day 2006

You've found us! It's our premiere issue, launching on Thanksgiving Day, 2006! We are so excited to be here and have a lot planned for the months ahead!

We at whisperingtree.net are grateful for the many blessings that have enabled us to make this a reality. We are here to offer help, to open doors for exploration, and to help you make connections.

It is no coincidence that we have opened our doors on Thanksgiving Day. Here in the United States, we place a high value on taking a day out to give thanks for the many blessings we enjoy. The United States is a nation of immigrants. Those of us who have come from places that have had little respect for life and liberty are thankful for the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy as Americans. No other holiday is as core to the American spirit as Thanksgiving. Yet the American culture is a great melting pot. Just look around at the variety of faces and accents.

Our Thanksgiving table, full of nature's bounty, is unique in the mixture of flavours and spices that we borrow with pleasure from one another. Chutneys, chilies, garlic, corn, fruits and olives can all be found in the medley we enjoy with gratitude. We are a blend of influences from around the world. It is the gift that each of our respective cultures has brought.

This is the time of year that we remember our loved ones who are no longer with us. We remember those who are away from the family, perhaps traveling abroad, or serving in the armed forces. We remember the blessings that each person represents and give thanks for their presence in our lives as we pray for continued blessings in the coming year.

This is a time to live with intent and to focus on the little things we do -- the work of our hands, the thoughts in our heads, and the feelings in our hearts.

This is a time to turn down the volume on the trials and tribulations of day to day life. The challenge of difficult work relationships, of bills delivered to our mailbox, and family disagreements. We are reminded to let all of that go, at least for a single day, and feel the beauty and gift of gratitude.

We start the adventure that is whisperingtree.net by remembering first and foremost to say a heartfelt "Thank You." This is perhaps the single most important thing we can do for ourselves and our loved ones.

It is this spirit of Thanksgiving that we have asked to carry us forward on this new adventure of discovery. Thank you for joining us, we look forward to the days ahead!

Blessings,
The staff at whisperingtree.net
