What are we looking for?

We are seeking fiction and non-fiction writing thematically concordant with the whisperingtree.net website. In general, we consider this work related to positive and uplifting individual spiritual exploration. More specifically, this may include but not be limited to topics related to the fields of Acupuncture, Astrology, Chakras, Energetic Healing, Herbalism, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Meditation, QiGong, Reiki, Spiritual Healing, Tai Chi, Yoga, and Shamanism.

The types of written work in these fields we are interested in include informational, teachings, practices, methods, modalities, personal experiences, recipes, travel guides, short-poetry, and short-fiction. In general, we are looking for written work around 1000 words in length but will consider pieces up to 7500 words. 7500 words is the exception and not the norm.

Work submitted and accepted will be published to our website and/ or our email newsletter. We reserve the right to edit any submission for -- including but not limited to -- clarity, focus, grammar, length, punctuation, and style.

What we are not looking for?

We are not seeking, do not accept, and will discard without justification and/ or notification any submissions regarding conspiracy theories, demonology, erotica, pornography, racism, satanism, sexism, or any such related topics.

Do not submit any original text, photography, artwork, or non-replaceable material; submit copies of work only.

Submit via Online Form

Please follow the instructions on and submit your work via our Online Submission Form. Include only plain text with minimal formatting, and submit only one article or written piece per form. Upon acceptance of the work, we will contact you via email or telephone.

Submit via Postal Service

For work submitted via physical mailing, include a brief cover letter. The cover letter must include the title of the work, a brief description or abstract of the work, whether it is fiction or non-fiction, a declaration that the content of the work submitted is intellectually original and created by the author being attributed to the work. Please also include any relevant contact information such as mailing address, email address, and telephone number and any relevant biographical information such as credentials, history, or previously published work.

Please print the cover letter and text of the work in black ink on 8 ½ by 11 inch white paper, with the printing on one side of the paper only in a 12 point times font. The text of the work should also include page numbering. Please do not include any binding, folders, staples, paper clips, rubber bands, disks, or any other extraneous material. We are looking for paper only.

If you wish the submission returned to you, include a self addressed stamped envelope. Any work submitted not including a self addressed stamped envelope will not be returned. If a self addressed stamped envelope is included we will make a good faith effort to return the work, but we can not guarantee it.

Upon acceptance of the work, we will contact you via email or telephone.

Reference or Works Cited Guidelines

We will consider all referencing styles as long as the style is identified and its standard conventions are followed. At a minimum, please include all relevant bibliographical information, such as the referenced work’s title, author(s) and/ or editor(s), publisher, location of publisher, date of publication, and all relevant pages, issues, or volume numbers.

Additional Information

Unless otherwise requested for personal or precautionary reasons, the author will be cited as the creator of the work.

Although we make diligent, good faith efforts to respond to every submission, we reserve the right to reject any work submitted without review, justification, or notification.

If any part of the work has been, or is about to be, published elsewhere, it is the responsibility of the author to inform whisperingtree.net at the time of submission.

From the date of acceptance, the author of the work grants whisperingtree.net the right to publish the work to our website and/ or our email newsletter or use the work as meets the needs of whisperingtree.net. The author retains all other rights to their work.
