Steve Judd's Forecast for January 2011
Libra | Scorpio | Sagittarius | Capricorn | Aquarius | Pisces
About Steve Judd
January 2011 is perhaps the biggest month of compressed and concentrated change in large scale ways that there will be over the whole year, although April speaks loudly of direct action. Jupiter leaves Pisces and trailblazes its way into Aries on the 22nd, so by the end of the month there will be a new dynamic in town. Mars changes sign mid month, as does Mercury, so this suggests to me that the period of January 13th to 22nd is likely to be highly controversial, probably inflammatory in some way and possibly even majorly significant in shaping the rest of the year. The Cancer full Moon right at the very end of its sign smack in the middle of this ten day process only amplifies the changes going on. Many will see January as a time of breakdown or chaos as old attitudes and patterns fade, but I se it as the start of a new beginning where those who can act and think for themselves will be presented with opportunities for more self empowerment than previously though possible. It requires the taking of some chances – but hey, life is for living. January 2011 – all change, please, and either get onto the branch line or the high speed express.
Aries Well, this is the month where it all finally begins to happen. Jupiter is going to move into your sign for a brief stay for about seventeen weeks, starting on January the 21st/22nd, a period which in many ways could easily be the most growthful that there’s been for over a decade. But initially, the impetus behind you could accelerate the process in such a way that it could easily get out of control, get swept up in its own momentum and go way over the top as a result. You are going to find yourself crunching quite rapidly through the gears in January, but you’re nowhere near peak yet so take your time and don’t run if you can trot. The more the month evolves, the more the sense of anticipation grows. But if you push too hard too fast then when the breakthrough happens you’ll find yourself rapidly propelled far into the unknown, creating difficult terrain. So despite your desire for headlong rush forward, keep one foot hovering over the brake should it be necessary. January gets faster and faster – but paradoxically, take your time whilst you still have it.
Taurus It’s a relatively quiet month, at least compared to some of the madness that seems to be going on in the lives of those around you. Don’t let other people’s situations get to you too much, because your best use to others at this time is to be objective and focussed as opposed to being emotionally caught up or mentally biased. It’s one of those months where some of the more easy going attributes of life are being emphasised – for example, your place in community in terms of the groups, teams or friendships you have. This should be an area of growth, and there’s a similar growth patterns coming into the area of travel. If you feel like taking a quick spontaneous break somewhere you’ve never been, or doing something you’ve never done that adds to your repertoire of direct experience, then January is the month to do it, especially if its with one or more mates. Bide your time and add to your energy – your time is coming, but not for a few months yet and if you push forward now when it’s not necessary then you may jeopardise your long term.
Gemini All levels of communication and media are stimulated this month. This is the mental communication you have with yourself through thoughts, ideas and dreams: it’s the communication and media you have with other (s), through speech, phone, text, email etc, and it’s the mediums you use to communicate with the world, whether that’s socialising, travelling or interacting in public. All systems of communication are emphasised this month, and there’s considerable scope for being able to influence your medium to long term future through making the effort to get on with all people cross border and cross culture. It’s almost too good to be true, as many of you seem to be in an unusually stable position, at least compared to recent years, and during January you can use this inherent solidity to promote yourself in all one to one interactions as someone who is consistent and direct – not the normal attributes for Gemini! It’s a month to win friends and influence people, and to learn by direct interaction as opposed to by books.
Cancer With a lot of diverse and challenging planets in your opposite sign of Capricorn during January, you’re going to find that all forms of one to one interaction, whether family, friend, professional or personal and intimate come up on your radar in a way that means you can’t avoid the issues any more, and have to take them on without avoiding them. Time to make choices about whom and what you want for the long term and what you can safely begin to release and discard, and the Cancer full Moon on the 19th January is going to ram this message home in a way that will be both transparent and unequivocal. But just because you’re in a position to make choices doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re also in a good position to take action. Perhaps the time for direct movement on the decisions you’re currently making is not so much now as it is in the near future, once the choices you’re taking have insinuated themselves firmly into your metaphorical hardware. Get your distinctions and boundaries clearly defined, but wait to implement them for another month or so.
Leo Temporarily, at least, it’s relatively quiet in that there are no new dramatic challenges or difficulties hitting you hard. However, that doesn’t make January an easy month. Increasingly, as the month evolves so you’ll find yourself almost inevitably drawn to make and take actions in many of your one to one interactions with others. During the middle of the month there’s a sudden shift of energy around you that stops the more reactive and instead projects the more dynamic side of your nature in a way that also promotes you into the outside world as being someone with a bit of oomph and va-va-voom. Almost inevitable your subtlety and diplomacy levels are going to drop, and you’re almost bound to say or do something that’s going to upset someone, so blunder on in head first but with an open manner that keeps everything transparent and obviously well intentioned, and no-one will mind too much if you accidentally tread on their toes… Don’t expect the second half of January to be calm – get your surfboard and skates oiled.
Virgo January represents the end of a long cycle of challenge, it’s as though both December and January are wrapping up old patterns of behaviour that have lasted in some cases as far back as 2004. It’s end game now, and as the white elephants and the castles in the air collapse all around you, stand still amongst all the debris and ask yourself who and what is still standing alongside you? By the end of January those people and situations that are still ongoing around you are likely to be seen as having a great deal more substance and worth than previously imagined, and new ideas and plans can be instigated from the end of this month onwards with a greater potential for success than at any time over the last fourteen months. There’s a level playing field coming in at the end of January that says that there are no more exaggerations, and that you’re going to get the proper and real information without decoration that gives you a realistic perspective on the world and your part in it for the first time in many years, in some cases. New beginnings ...
Libra Saturn is standing still during January, and whilst he’s particularly affecting those of you born around the 9th to the 11th, his waves are emanating throughout Libra. Since his journey into your sign began properly last July, many of you have had to deal with limiting and restrictive circumstances that have bought new boundaries into your life. Whilst this has no doubt incurred a degree of loss, perhaps a better way of looking at the things and people whom are no longer around or who are obviously on their way out is to see the process as one of weeding and pruning and of clearing the decks so that the seeds of the future can have an unobstructed start. For those of you older, go back to 1981/2 – you’ll find similar situations. You can moan and groan about how hard your life is, or you can take Saturn’s lessons head on – put your nose to the grindstone, shut up, stay low and persevere knowing that by doing it the hard way you only have to do it once and by persistent hard graft you become more successful than previously thought possible.
Scorpio The first few weeks of the month give you the chance to summarise and capitalise on recent months’ developments in a way that should successfully close doors and bring to an end a period of integration and assimilation. As a result of the last few months’ events I now se you as much more wholesome, charged and ready for almost anything. But the essence of wisdom here is to know when not to act and to allow patterns to unfold whilst still managing your role as a passive but imminent presence in the game. It’s as though you’ve become the ongoing finished item, and now instead of using that new found pattern in a fit of action, perhaps it’s better to sit back and allow this new energy to mature and slowly ripen, so that when the time for using it becomes apparent (probably June), you’ll be able to be far more effective and efficient than would currently be the case. You’re only just coming out of the alchemists’ crucible, and your new found invulnerability isn’t quite ready yet for presentation to the world. Carry on simmering…
Sagittarius All the beasties of the last seven years are now on the point of finally going away and leaving you alone for the long term foreseeable future, and this process will become increasingly apparent as January unfolds. Bubbles are bursting for what really is the final time for a number of years, and it is basically end game as far as recent history goes. The future of 2011 will be determined by your actions and reactions during January so don’t let short term dramas become crisis by over reacting or letting things get out of proportion. Having said all that, Venus moves into your sign from the 7th, and issues around things of value and worth in your life should begin to improve in a way that noticeably changes both the quality of the company that you keep and the quality of the experiences available. It’s certainly a time where the potential for social, romantic and possibly even financial chances seems to bloom. The old is ending – don’t rush into the new, let yourself sit back for a month or so and enjoy Venus’ company.
Capricorn One helluva month. Busiest time of 2011, lots and lots of different influences ongoing. The month starts with the Capricorn new Moon on January 4th, suggestive of a major shift in your ability to be proactive as opposed to reactive as far as the decision making process goes, and perhaps even a little eliminative or ruthless. Mars is highly active in your sign, particularly affecting those born after the 8th Jan in a way that’s proactive and initiatory. This continues until the 13th-15th, when Mars leaves Capricorn just as Mercury enters it. This implies that the second half of January is going to be much more verbal and mentally orientated as opposed to physical or proactive. So if you’re going to launch now things in January, do it in the first half of the month because the second half is more of a talking shop rather than a production line. There are lots of nudges and elbows coming your way at the moment, not aggressively but in a way that suggests you’re still finding that refined course that recent months have propelled you towards. At the end of the day, actions speak louder than words.
Aquarius Best get ready, things are about to start hotting up in a way that’s going to make you wish you’d charged up your energy banks before you got to this stage. Admittedly, this isn’t going to occur until Mars moves into your sign around the 15th of January, but there’s a kind of leaking of this energy before this time that suggests it’s a good idea to get up to speed – fast. By the second half of the month events and situations are going to be unfolding in ways that creates a degree of suddenness that there can be no planning for. It will be wave surfing time. If there’s anything you want to do over the coming six months or so that’s going to take a lot of physical energy, plan on doing it in the second half of January and all of February, because that’s when your get up and go is going to be at its most virile and projective. Unusually, this is a month where both the plans and the energy seem to work hand in hand. If you don’t take the chances developing around you you’ll lose nothing, except chances, but what a waste of opportunity… get ready to jump.
Pisces No easy way of saying it folks, January is end game for many of you. Those situations that have somehow permeated or insinuated themselves into your life since 2003 onwards have all been encapsulated and summarised over the last five or six weeks to the point where right now, during mid/end January, bubbles are finally bursting in ways that brings permanent clarity to your situation, for possibly the first time in a number of years. From the end of January the pressure is off, Jupiter is leaving your sign and going on to new adventures, so most if not all of the over the top and larger than life situations of recent years and especially months are at an end. January is a month to step back and watch the ivory towers crumble, and not get involved. By the end of the month you’ll have a perspective that whilst perhaps not totally to your liking will nevertheless have more substance to it than much of recent situations, and the more you emerge into 2011 the more peaceful and calm it gets, although not to the point of boredom ...
