Don't Be Afraid

Racing through the mysterious dark trees,
While weaving around and leaping over logs.
Trying to figure out with that strange shape was
Ghastly trees or a sneaky person lurking around.
Should you be afraid? Yes.

Shifting in impossible ways, to make the outline
Of trees that range from large to massive.
Turn your head around and take a second look,
For someone is following your every move.
Should you be afraid? Yes.

Stop running and stay where you are,
Plan for the darkness to overshadow you,
Take that knife out pocket and defend yourself,
You'll never have a chance to survive if you don't.
Should you be afraid? Yes.

Change course, and make a loop around,
Make a fake to trick someone,
Let the light shine around you,
And mark where you are.
Should you be afraid? No.
