Dear Ana,

What are your plans for 2011?  Was 2010 your year and you'd like to see more of the same? Did it work for you?  Or do you want something a little different?  Well, if it's been working for you, then don't change a thing.

I always spend time during New Year's thinking about what has been wonderful and what has not in the past year. From there, it's pretty easy figuring out what I want. More of the wonderful, less of the not.

What is it that you personally want to see more or less of in your life?  What are those little things that make you happy.  Don't put limits on it, a little daydreaming is very healthy.

I think of the New Year as an opportunity for clearing the dust of the past year and starting on a brand new, crisp, fresh page.  Think about what you'd like to invite in to your life in this coming year. If you're struggling with it, spend some time just letting the question wash over you.

Take a long walk outdoors by yourself. Yes, by yourself.

Or run a hot bath and sit in the steam by candlelight. Or go down to the gym on your own and focus on your workout. This is about stopping the chatter and just being quiet for a while so that you can really hear yourself. Grab a journal and write it down. Now you have an intention. And remember what I said about daydreaming. The new year comes along with a big bag of miracle grow. Scoop a little out for yourself and plant those seeds now. You'll be surprised at what happens when you focus a little attention on your hopes and dreams.

Happy New Year everyone!

Sue WalkerTSit down with Sue Walker, chat with her for a bit over eggnog lattes, and you'll feel as if you've known her for years. With a smile that lets you know you're just the one she's waiting for, a conversation with Sue starts with a happy greeting and ends with a warm embrace. Sue exudes a kind of caring spirit that's contagious and inspiring - perfect for a person who works as an aid to others in that very personal experience of healing.

Sue is a healing touch practitioner through the Healing Touch Program, an educational program that specializes in energy-based healing therapy. In addition to full-time volunteering at schools and with Hospice over the last fifteen years, Sue has been working since 2006 with healing touch in Fort Collins, Colorado. Healing touch is an energy therapy that works to maximize the flow of energy in the body, and encompasses both the physical and emotional realms of healing. It is, then, most fitting that Sue is in such a line of work, as she possesses an understanding of people and of healing that clearly carries over into her work ...
